Apologies

I've deleted my previous post.

The character in my mind when I said "not whole" was missing a portion of a leg so the term, to me, was accurate in a physical sense and not meant to imply that such a character was not a whole person with feelings, relationships, and all the sum parts of a fulfilling life--which the character does also have. A good friend of mine has the same disability and I have talked with him many many times about it, as a source for the research.

That said, after re-reading the post with an eye for what others, as your replies pointed out, found offensive, I do see my errors and how my words could be, and sadly were, taken badly. I hope that you would all understand that I would never seek to belittle anyone. I truly did not intend to offend anyone and I sincerely apologize.

  1. For me no apologies necessary. If you are guilty of any "sin" here, it's the choice of words. That's why God made editors, which we do not use for our articles here, last I checked.
I'll even go out on a limb here and risk offending a few people (To be fair I was not here for most of the flames. I was at work) and I would suggest that anyone taking offense should have checked for a clarification first. Knowing you as I do from a few conversations and these articles you're one of the last people I would ever accuse of willfully belittling anyone.
